Common questions

Pricing, Straight Up

Is the quote really free?

Yes, pricing a job is free and coming out to look carries no call-out charge. We assess the work, explain it, and leave you a written price with no obligation to proceed.

How do I pay?

Payment comes after the job is done and signed off to your satisfaction, by card or bank transfer. We settle the how and when at booking, so nothing catches you out on the day.

How do quotes work?

We look over the job on site and put one price in writing up front. That price is what you pay, and it holds even if the work ends up taking us longer than we expected.

What does the $50 off your first service cover?

First-time customers save $50 off the quoted price when they book with us. It's our way of making that first job an easy yes, on top of pricing that's fixed and upfront.

Common questions

Licensing and Safety

What is a Certificate of Compliance and do I get one?

It's the paperwork confirming your job met the wiring rules, and it's registered with the regulator on any job that's notifiable. Every notifiable job we finish comes with one, so your compliance is on record.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we hold NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C and we're fully insured, and we're members of Master Electricians Australia. Every job is done by a licensed electrician, never a handyman.

What is a safety switch and do I need one?

A safety switch (an RCD) trips almost instantly the moment it detects current leaking to earth, and that split-second cut-off is what stops a shock turning serious. The rules now expect most homes to have them, yet plenty of older Federation places here still run without one on every circuit.

Can I do my own electrical work in NSW?

No. State law reserves fixed wiring for a licensed sparkie only, because the risk of shock and fire is too high to leave to guesswork.

Common questions

Booking, Timing and Response Times

What counts as an electrical emergency?

A burning smell, sparks, a hot or scorched outlet, or exposed live wiring all count, and so does losing power in a way that's unsafe. If something feels dangerous, switch it off at the board and call us straight away.

What happens after I call?

A local person answers, talks the job through with you, and books a time that suits. Before any work begins we give you a fixed written price on site, so you always know the cost first.

How do I book?

Give us a ring on (02) 9538 7139 or send a message through our contact page and we'll lock in a time. We confirm the details up front, and booked jobs get a friendly reminder text the day beforehand.

How soon can you fit me in?

For standard work we can usually get to you the same or next day, while genuine emergencies get a response day or night. Tell us how urgent it is when you call and we'll set a realistic time.

Common questions

Local to Haberfield

How local are you, really?

We work Haberfield and the Inner West around it most weeks, so a job here is rarely more than a short drive for us. The sparkie who turns up already knows these streets, and your call reaches our own crew rather than a booking line somewhere else.

What suburbs do you service?

Haberfield is our home patch, and we regularly work the neighbouring streets of Croydon, Five Dock and Leichhardt, as well as Ashfield and Summer Hill. Sitting a little beyond that patch, ring us and we'll tell you either way.

Do you work on heritage and strata properties?

Yes, both are common here. We're used to working within a heritage listing that protects a home's street-facing look, and we handle strata and shared-wiring jobs with the right approvals.

Do you know Haberfield's housing stock?

We do. The suburb's Federation homes were built on original wiring and ceramic fuse boards that often need modernising, and knowing that stock helps us diagnose faults faster.
